MONTERREY, Mexico -- Paul Tracy made it 2-of-2 this season with an easy win Sunday in the CART Monterrey Grand Prix.
Tracy, off to the best start of his 13-year Champ Car career, held off Michel Jourdain Jr. for the same top two as the opener last month in St. Petersburg.
Sunday was almost a carbon copy of that race for Tracy, who again took the lead when rookie pole-sitter Sebastien Bourdais pitted. Tracy led the final 69 of 85 laps around the 2.104-mile, 14-turn road circuit.
Bourdais was seventh when he clipped the wall on the way into the pits on Lap 40, ending his race.
Tracy missed Saturday's final qualifying session after damaging his car in practice. He drove a backup Sunday.
"It was a good, solid race car," he said. "(The crew) had to work hard to get this car ready and it was really good."
MALAYSIAN GP: Kimi Raikkonen earned his first Formula One win at Sepang. Raikkonen took the points lead at 16, six better than McLaren-Mercedes teammate David Coulthard, whose car stopped on Lap 3 with electrical problems. Rubens Barrichello, in a Ferrari, was second, 39 seconds back. Fernando Alonso, who Saturday became the youngest pole-sitter in F1 history, was third in a Renault.
PUREX DIAL INDY 200: Pole-sitter Tony Kanaan led the final 41 laps for his first IndyCar win in Avondale, Ariz. Kanaan's Honda beat Helio Castroneves' Toyota by .9328 seconds on the mile oval. Gil de Ferran was in fair condition after a crash with Michael Andretti. Series director of medical services Henry Bock said de Ferran had a minor fracture of the lower back and a concussion.
LUCAS OIL 250: Dennis Setzer won the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race on the 0.5-mile Mesa Marin Raceway oval in Bakersfield, Calif., winning for the sixth straight season to match Jack Sprague's series mark. On Lap 228 of 255, Setzer used the lapped truck of Travis Kvapil to pass Brendan Gaughan's Dodge and take the lead for good.
