Learning in retirement

Seniors can discover what courses are available to them at the USF Learning in Retirement organizations Open Coffee Spring Orientation at 10 a.m. April 4 in the College of Public Health, 4202 E Fowler Ave., Tampa. Enjoy coffee and snacks while instructors present various courses in theater, science, history, literature, music, geography and more in the Spring term. Senior Hall of Fame nominations

The City of St. Petersburg's Office on Aging is accepting nominations for the Senior Hall of Fame. The Hall of Fame honors seniors for outstanding contributions of time and talent to the community. Nominees must be 65 or older, a year-round resident of Pinellas County for more than three years, and have provided a community service to St. Petersburg. Anyone wishing to make a nomination should submit the nominee's name, address, phone number, birth date and a 200-word summary of the reason for the nomination. Submissions should be mailed by April 18 to the Sunshine Center, 330 Fifth St. N, St. Petersburg. Call (727) 893-7102.

Job Fair for Mature Workers is April 26

Companies looking for experienced workers can evaluate more than 150 prospective candidates at the annual Job Fair for Mature Workers 8:30 a.m. to noon April 26 at the Sunshine Center, 330 Fifth St. N, St. Petersburg. For more information, call (727) 893-7102.

Free screenings and more

Free is the key word. Health screenings, product samples, entertainment, food, drinks. Everything is free at the Senior Free! Fest 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday at the St. Petersburg Coliseum, 535 Fourth Ave. N, St. Petersburg. Entertainment includes the Forever Young Dancers, Grandmother Rockettes, CJ Harding and more. Adopt a grandchild

Pinellas County seniors can make a friend through the Gulf Coast Community Care Adopt-A-Grandchild program. Volunteers spend two to four hours a week with children participating in activities they both enjoy. Children and seniors are matched based on location and mutual interests.
