SPRING HILL -- The Sheriff's Office is looking for a man who barged into a home early Sunday, and made off with jewelry and money.

The unidentified man opened an unlocked door at 12:40 a.m. Sunday at 7008 Spring Hill Drive and threatened James M. Aponte, 23, who was home alone and lying on the couch in the living room. According to the sheriff's report, the man punched Aponte in the face and ordered him to lie face-down on the floor while the intruder grabbed money and jewelry on top of an entertainment center. Shortly thereafter, the men began to wrestle on the couch. Aponte got free and ran toward the rear sliding door in order to sic his dogs on the intruder. When the man realized what Aponte was doing, he fled the house.

Authorities describe the man as black; 6 feet tall; wearing a camouflage jacket, green sweat pants and a black beanie-style cap. Anyone with information is asked to call the Sheriff's Office at 754-6830 or the anonymous tip line at 797-8477.
