This weekBy Times staff writer© St. Petersburg Times published April 18, 2003 GATORS AT COURTHOUSE: The Old Courthouse Heritage Museum, 1 Courthouse Square, Inverness, is featuring a new exhibition Alligators: Dragons in Paradise, through May 28. The exhibit includes artifacts such as alligator shoes and clothing, reproductions of skulls and a simulated nest complete with eggs. A park ranger at Homosassa Springs State Wildlife Park, Mike Werwetz, will discuss alligators and their habitats at 1 p.m. March 29 at the second-floor courthouse of the museum. Free admission. Regular hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. Call 341-6436. WINE TASTING: The second annual dinner and wine tasting, "Flavours to Savour" will be at 6:30 p.m. April 26 at the Black Diamond Country Club. Event features harpist Sue Jeffes prior to the wine and five-course meal. Proceeds will benefit the Central Citrus Rotary Club project to purchase automated external defibrillators, to assist heart attack victims. The Rotary plans to purchase several of the machines to equip county emergency vehicles. Tickets are $65 per person or $120 per couple. Complementary bottle of wine to each couple. MUSIC IN THE HILLS: The theme for the upcoming concert, a tribute to the musical genius of Richard Rodgers by the Chorus of Beverly Hills, is "With a Song in My Heart." The concert will be held at 3 p.m. May 4 at the Beverly Hills Recreation Association auditorium, 77 Civic Circle. Tickets are $4 and may be purchased at the BHRA office or from chorus members. QUICK TRIPS A new company for the rides, a fresh coat of paint and a "Wild and Western" theme are new features at the Hernando County Fair, which opens its run in Brooksville today at the Hernando County Fairgrounds, U.S. 41 S. The fair runs through April 27.
