Man, 32, faces charge of improperly touching boyBy Times staff writer© St. Petersburg Times published April 18, 2003 A 32-year-old Dade City man was arrested Wednesday on a charge that he improperly touched an 11-year-old boy. The boy said the man touched his genitals with his hands and mouth, a Pasco County Sheriff's Office report said. The Sheriff's Office withheld the boy's name due to the nature of the charges. The report did not say when the alleged encounter occurred. Martin Alfonso Cruz of 38842 Patti Lane "confessed" to touching the boy when detectives questioned him Wednesday morning, the report said. Cruz was charged with one count of lewd and lascivious conduct. He remained at the county jail in Land O'Lakes on Thursday in lieu of $20,000 bail. Six cars are burglarized in Holiday neighborhood HOLIDAY -- Sheriff's detectives are investigating six car burglaries that occurred late Tuesday or early Wednesday in Holiday. Three residents who live on Pinewood Villas Drive, two on Oak Wind Drive and one on Fern Glen Drive reported that someone had stolen compact discs, money and cigarettes from their cars, some of which were unlocked. One woman reported that her front passenger window had been smashed. Sheriff's spokesman Kevin Doll said detectives do not know if the burglaries are related.
