HOLIDAY -- A 58-year-old New Port Richey man was arrested Monday after he threatened another man with a stun gun, according to the Pasco Sheriff's Office.

Warren P. Fragomen, 7414 Pursley Drive, Apt. A, faces a charge of simple assault. He was released from the Land O'Lakes jail Tuesday on $250 bail.

Deputy Scott Lineberry arrived at Holiday Towers, an office building, about 7:20 p.m. Monday and saw Fragomen holding a gun and lunging toward Sandy Spieler, an arrest report states.

Fragomen said he had stopped by Spieler's workplace to pick up a record he needed. Fragomen said they used to be business partners. He said Spieler pulled out a gun, so he got out his stun gun.

Spieler, however, said Fragomen pulled into the parking lot with a stun gun and moved toward him. At first, Spieler thought the gun was real, and pulled out a pistol. But he realized it was a stun gun and decided to douse Fragomen with pepper spray, according to the report. As Fragomen recovered, Spieler went back inside and called the Sheriff's Office.

DADE CITY -- A 37-year-old woman was arrested Tuesday evening after witnesses said she slapped a 4-year-old girl outside a Sav-A-Lot, a Dade City Police Department report said.

Witnesses said the woman appeared "very angry" as she hit the child about 5:20 p.m., the report said.

When officers arrived, the report said, they noticed the girl had a "very red face" with a mark near her left eye. Nail marks were visible on the girl's skin, the report said.

Maria Eugenia Irizarry of 12739 Candlewood Circle in Dade City faces a charge of child abuse/battery. She remained Wednesday at the county jail in Land O'Lakes in lieu of $250 bail.

Wimauma man jailed after car chase

LAND O'LAKES -- A 22-year-old man led a Pasco County sheriff's deputy on a car chase early Tuesday morning after the deputy discovered the man was wanted on warrants and for driving without a valid license, according to reports.

The deputy stopped Kevin Curtis Anderson of 13930 Dupree Road in Wimauma at the Land O'Lakes recreation center about 3:45 a.m., a sheriff's report said. After running Anderson's name in a warrants database, the deputy asked him to step out of the car, the report said.

Anderson hesitated, then drove off in his 1998 Kia, the report said. He fled north on Collier Parkway, then went west on Killington Road on the wrong side of the road, the report said.

Anderson drove to the end of Billingham Drive, where he got out of the car and ran, the report said. Another deputy with a police dog tracked Anderson to Penny Loop, where he was arrested.

He faces charges of felony fleeing and driving on a suspended license. He was also wanted on a Hillsborough County warrant for violating his probation on drug charges. He remained at the Land O'Lakes jail Wednesday in lieu of $7,250 bail.

Pit bull bites teenage jogger in Wesley Chapel

WESLEY CHAPEL -- Authorities are investigating a pit bullterrier attack on a 16-year-old Wesley Chapel High School student Tuesday afternoon.

Jamie Aaron Parslow of 30315 Coast Lane in Wesley Chapel was taking a 3-mile run on Boyette Road about 3:30 p.m. when he passed a yard with a brown pit bullterrier, a Pasco County Sheriff's Office report said.

Jamie told deputies a woman came out of the house and warned him about her dog, Bud. She told Jamie to stand still and call Bud by his name if the dog charged him, the report said.

When the dog later ran after Jamie, however, the woman's advice didn't work. Bud bit Jamie's left calf several times, the report said.

The dog's owner, Joyce Ellen Layton, 46, of 5980 Boyette Road, told deputies Bud slipped out of her house when her 2-year-old daughter opened a sliding glass door. She said the 3-year-old dog, which is normally confined to a bathroom, has done this before, the report said.

Pasco County Animal Control is looking into the attack.
