    Saturday festival

    You can enjoy food, entertainment and crafts from each region of the United States at the City of Largo's Celebrate America Festival from 5 to 9 p.m. Saturday at Largo Central Park, at East Bay Drive and Seminole Boulevard. Pan for gold, climb a mountain, fish, catch Mardi Gras beads and watch real gator wrestling. Joni Harms, Vance Gilbert and Lorna Bracewell will perform. The event will close with fireworks at 9 p.m. Admission is free, but you must buy a $5 wristband to participate in activities. For information, call (727) 587-6775.

    Benefit concert and beach party

    Habitat for Humanity will host an all-you-can-eat, all-you-can-drink event from 7 to 11 p.m. Saturday at Sunset Beach in Tarpon Springs. Bring your lawn chair, watch the sunset and dance the night away. All proceeds will go toward homes for needy people in Pinellas County. Tickets are $20 and can be purchased at Bridie Gannon's Pub in Tarpon Springs or by calling (727) 939-8078.

    Fun 'n Sun 50th Anniversary Concert

    Clearwater Air Park Open House/Aviation Festival

    Meet Clearwater's own Nicole Passonno Stott, a NASA astronaut, at the airpark from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. There will also be vintage planes, craft displays and children's activities. The air park is at 1000 Hercules Ave. N, Clearwater. Admission is free.

    NIGHT AT THE MOVIES: Recapture your youth tonight with an outdoor film in Pioneer Park in Dunedin. Time Machine starts at dusk. The park is at Main Street and Douglas Avenue downtown. Free, but donations will be accepted, and 15 percent of the proceeds will benefit the Homeless Emergency Project. Popcorn, soda and snack concessions also will be available. No pets or alcohol.     SUNSETS AT PIER 60: Celebrate the end of the day with a festival of crafts and entertainment two hours before and two hours after sunset at the Pier 60 Pavilion on Clearwater Beach. Local bands and artists. Admission is free.

    COMEDY: Wildrice, an improv group, will entertain at 8 p.m. tonight at the Largo Cultural Center, 105 Central Park Drive. $10 cabaret seating with cash bar, $8 for groups of 10 or more. Call (727) 587-6793.

    SINGING CONTEST: The Pinellas Opera League will hold its sixth annual Competition Awards for Voice Students ages 17-35 at 1 p.m. Saturday at First Christian Church of Clearwater, 2299 Drew St., Clearwater. Free.

    FLOWERED POWERED ART: This whimsical art show features wire and Plexiglas artworks by Todd Ramquist and Kiaralinda of Safety Harbor, known as the Whim * Z * twinz. Their collection of mixed-media creations made of aluminum wire, found objects and other items will be on display May 11 at Clay and Paper, a gallery associated with the Painted Fish Gallery, 350 Main St., Dunedin.
