Winning Eleven 6

System: PlayStation 2

Company: Konami

Price: $39

Rating: Everyone

Grade: A

Here's what you've been waiting for, futbol fans (or soccer fans, as we call them in America). Winning Eleven 6, the soccer game that took Japan and Europe (where it is known as Pro Evolution Soccer) by storm, has arrived in the United States.

WE6 is quite possibly the best sports game I have played. It has astounding graphics, fun game play and a wide variety of national teams to choose from, as well as teams you can create.

WE6 does such a good job of re-creating the game of soccer that it feels as if you are inside the game, playing in one of the 14 available stadiums, hearing the roar of the crowd. Just like the real game of soccer, WE6 is fast-paced and will keep you playing for a long time.

The only negative is the very annoying commentary by British sportscasters. They seem to have a limited vocabulary, at some points almost continually repeating themselves.

If you can get past the Brits, this game is well worth playing.

Disney Sports Soccer

System: GameCube

Company: Konami

Price: $38.99

Rating: Everyone

Grade: B+

I thought this game would be a good games for 5-year-olds. But I got into it quick, and three hours later I still wanted to play. It's like FIFA Soccer, but with Disney cartoon characters who use 12 types of magic, such as fire shots and speed-ups, to help them during the game.

There are eight teams with Mickey, Donald, Goofy and so on. Here's a hint: Donald's team is the fastest, and Mickey's team has the best all-around skills. You can play up to four players in multimode, and you can hook up a GameBoy Advance to play.

Whirl Tour

System: GameCube

Company: Crave Entertainment

Price: $24.99

Rating: Everyone

Grade: A

Whirl Tour reminds me of Tony Hawk Pro Skater, except you use scooters. Sounds dumb, but it's not. I have never seen anyone do tricks like this on a scooter. There are seven characters with really tight moves, but you have to unlock them to play with them.

With eight levels from a Gothic castle to a hovering city in the sky, there are more than 80 tricks you can perform. Play two players and unlock secrets together. There are speed power-ups around each level. But watch out. There are also power-downs that make you lose speed. The game has the same controls as Tony Hawk, so if you have played that game you should be okay.
