Sound offBy SHEILA REED© St. Petersburg Times published April 29, 2003 Readers, here is your opportunity to Sound Off on your perceptions and realities concerning aging. Is your journey to senior citizenship good? Bad? Or are you indifferent? The stories on this page offer somewhat similar views on aging. In one, the key to longevity is finding that one true love; while a study by the National Center on Women and Aging at Brandeis University suggests that a majority of women say getting older is not so bad. (Of course, those coping with illness or disability are less rosy in their assessments.) I'd like to know what you think about aging, about your challenges and your joys. Is growing older all it's cracked up to be? Who's handling it better, men or women, or you both in the same boat? - Please send your responses, no more than 250 words, to Sound Off, c/o Seniority editor Sheila Reed, St. Petersburg Times, P.O. Box 1121, St. Petersburg, FL 33731. Or e-mail sreed@sptimes.com Please include your name, age, place of residence and a phone number (it will not be published) where you can be reached if we need to talk with you. © 2006 • All Rights Reserved • St. Petersburg Times
