THE LOWDOWN: This is Game 5 of the East semifinals. The Devils need one victory to clinch the best-of-seven series. ... In seven series since 1995 in which New Jersey held a 3-1 lead, it has closed out the series five times in Game 5. ... With the Devils 3-for-12 on the power play (25 percent) in the series, Tampa Bay's penalty kill has fallen to 79.5 percent in the playoffs. Entering Thursday, that was second worst of the eight teams left in the postseason. ... Tampa Bay's power play is 1-for-12 against New Jersey and has failed to convert its past nine chances. ... Devils RW Turner Stevenson missed Game 4 with a slight groin strain. He is day to day. ... G Martin Brodeur leads the playoffs with three shutouts. ...
