Snook off the hook
Thursday marked the close of snook season until Sept. 1 in the Gulf of Mexico. It's not illegal to catch the fish, but it is illegal to keep a snook of any size during the closed season. During the summer female snook are full of eggs as they prepare to spawn in the Gulf passes, so the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission has declared the species off limits.
Todd Wood and Bob Puccinelli, hosts of Let's Talk Fishing on Sports Radio 1010 The Team, are seeking recipes for a charity cookbook to benefit the Children's Cancer Center in Tampa. If you have any kind of recipe that goes with a seafood meal and would like to contribute, go to www.thefishindudes.com and click on the cookbook page, fill out the form and click the submit button.
