LAKE WORTH - An elementary school employee and a Girl Scout worker were arrested on charges that they hosted parties for boys where they drank alcohol, watched adult movies and had sex while one woman's husband was at work, authorities said.
Amy Duane, 37, a mother of three and a data processor at Discovery Key Elementary School, was charged with lewd acts on a child under 16 and providing alcohol to persons under 21. Debra Favre, 38, a registrar with the Palm Glades Girl Scouts Council, was charged with one count of sexual activity with a minor and two counts of providing alcohol to persons under 21.
At one of their parties in March, Duane watched a pay-per-view movie with a 13-year-old and had sex with him, authorities said. Another time, Favre had sex with a 16-year-old, according to authorities.
Allegations surfaced after sheriff's officials learned that Duane and Favre hosted several parties over a four-month period at Duane's home. Authorities said the women provided rum, vodka and beer to the boys, ages 12 and older, under the condition that they abide by "Amy's rule."
"She was concerned they wouldn't get too drunk," sheriff's spokesman Paul Miller said of the rule.
Officials said at least a dozen juveniles said they attended drinking and sex parties at Duane's house.
Miller said it doesn't appear that the women met the juveniles through their work.
The parties occurred while Duane's husband was away, Miller said. Favre is not married.
Duane has not been at the school since her arrest, Discovery Key principal Stephen Sills said.
