Summer karate camp

Master John Prevatt Karate Studio will host a summer karate sports camp from May 30 to August 5 for boys and girls ages 5 and older. The camp will include karate instruction, movies, swimming, bowling, basketball, skating and gymnastics.

The camp is 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday at the studio, 5354 Erlich Road. Registration is $99 and includes a bag, T-shirt and karate uniform. Call 962-4004.

Heritage Isles swim team

The Heritage Isles Crocodiles swim team will host registration from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday for boys and girls ages 6-17, able to swim one lap freestyle and backstroke continuously. Those registering should bring a copy of their birth certificate.

Registration is at Heritage Isles Golf and Country Club, 10630 Plantation Bay Drive. Cost is $125 residents, $145 guests, plus a $25 insurance fee. Call 907-9954.

USF swim program

The University of South Florida's Campus Recreation Department will host swim classes May 12-30 for boys and girls age 3 and older. The classes will teach water survival skills and water safety.

Register from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays through Fridays in the USF Campus Recreation Office, 4202 E Fowler Ave. Cost is $85 per session. Call 974-3177.

Summer training for beginning walkers

Take... the First Step Club will host a summer training program for beginning walkers and joggers on the school track at Ben Hill Middle School, 5200 Erlich Road. Weekly classes from 6:30-7:30 p.m. begin May 19.

Classes are $35 per week. Call 961-9347.
