Marine Lance Cpl. Luciano Macias Jr., son of Tina and Luciano Macias Sr. and brother of Anna Macias of Pinellas Park, was deployed in February to the Middle East with the 2nd Amphibian Assault Battalion, 2nd Marine Division. He is an "amtrek" driver and technician. He graduated from Gibbs High School in 2001.

Marine Lance Cpl. Jamal A. Russell, son of Dannie Russell of St. Petersburg, was deployed to Kuwait in January. He is serving with a support unit as a supply mess clerk. He is a 1998 graduate of Hillsborough High School. Marine Cpl. Jaron A. Lawson, son of James M. Lawson of St. Petersburg, was deployed to the Middle East in February with the 4th Assault Amphibian Battalion, 4th Division. He is a 1997 graduate of St. Petersburg High School.

Marine Lance Cpl. Zeron D. Rance, son-in-law of Michele and Fred McCabe of St. Petersburg, was deployed to the Middle East in February with the 4th Assault Amphibian Battalion, 4th Marine Division.

Marine Staff Sgt. Jacob M. Reiff, son of Kristine M. Beadle of St. Petersburg, was deployed to the Middle East in March with the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit aboard the USS Iwo Jima.

Marine 1st Lt. Matthew A. Markham, son of Elizabeth C. Blazuk of Seminole and Wayne T. Markham of St. Petersburg, was deployed to the Middle East in March with the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit. He is a 1995 graduate of Seminole High School.

Marine Lance Cpl. Nathan J. Fox, son of Paul L. Fox of St. Petersburg, was deployed to the Middle East in March with the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit.

Navy Petty Officer 2nd Class Michael E. Brown, son of Carolyn J. Bigger of Pinellas Park, was deployed to the Persian Gulf with Sea Control Squadron 22 aboard the USS Harry S. Truman. He is a 1992 graduate of Gibbs High School.

Navy Seaman James A. Maley, son of Suzanne M. Bowman of Pinellas Park, has been serving in the Persian Gulf aboard the USS Kitty Hawk. The ship was scheduled to return to its home port in Yokosuka, Japan, on Tuesday.

Navy Petty Officer 2nd Class Justin R. Miller, son of Larry Miller of St. Petersburg, recently returned to his home port after serving in the Persian Gulf aboard the USS Abraham Lincoln. The ship returned to Everett, Wash., after more than nine months at sea, the longest carrier deployment in 30 years.

Navy Petty Officer 1st Class James T. Wright, son of Katrina and James T. Wright of St. Petersburg, recently returned to his home port after serving in the Persian Gulf aboard the USS Paul Hamilton. The ship returned to Pearl Harbor after a nine-month deployment. Wright is a 1986 graduate of Gibbs High School.

Navy Petty Officer 3rd Class Adam Cowles, son of Rodney Christan of St. Petersburg, was deployed to the Middle East in March aboard the USS Iwo Jima.
