Marine Maj. Andrew Heino, son of Barbara Heino of Treasure Island, is serving with Marine Attack Squadron 513 at Bagram Air Base, Afghanistan. He is a Harrier pilot.

Coast Guard Ensign Joshua David Brand, son of Noreen Brand of St. Petersburg, will graduate from the U.S. Coast Guard Academy this month. He is assigned to the USCGC Dauntless, stationed in Galveston, Texas. He earned a silver star for military excellence and the gold star for academic excellence. He is a 1999 graduate of St. Petersburg High School.

Coast Guard Fireman Apprentice Nicole M. Larrinaga, daughter of Donna M. Harwood of Pinellas Park, recently graduated from the U.S. Coast Guard Recruit Training Center in Cape May, N.J.

Marine Cpl. Robert L. Wilcoxen, son of Loretta A. and Robert L. Wilcoxen of St. Petersburg, has reported for duty with Marine Aviation Logistics Squadron 36, Marine Air Group 36, 1st Marine Aircraft Wing in Okinawa, Japan. He joined the Marines in 1997.

Marine Sgt. Jerwaska L. Wright, son of Ricky D. Wright of St. Petersburg, recently graduated from the Combat Engineer Noncommissioned Officer Course for supervisors. He joined the Marines in 1998.

Navy Seaman Apprentice Joseph G. Kunkel, son of Terri L. and Terry M. Hutchison of St. Petersburg, has reported for duty at naval Strike and Air Warfare Center, Naval Air Station in Fallon, Nev. He is a 2002 graduate of Riverview High School.

Marine Pvt. Donald M. Paul, son of Kathe L. Walker of Madeira Beach, has completed basic training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, S.C.

Navy Seaman Apprentice Brandon R. Desimone, son of Sandra K. and Joseph A. Desimone of St. Petersburg, has completed Navy basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill.
