TAMPA - Tampa police on Monday arrested a man on the department's "most wanted" list.

Claudell Johnson, 35, was wanted on a long list of charges.

Police said they believed he had fled to Mexico after his involvement in a local chop shop operation but returned several weeks ago. An anonymous tip led officers about 9 a.m. Monday to a home at 8921 N Dexter Ave., where they arrested Johnson.

Charges include multiple counts of grand theft, burglary, dealing in stolen property, among others.

He also faces charges of possession of a firearm with an altered serial number and violation of probation for sale of a motor vehicle with an altered serial number.

Johnson remained in custody at the Hillsborough County jail Monday in lieu of $30,000 bail.
