ANAHEIM, Calif. - Brian Roberts, called up to the majors this week, hit a grand slam in the ninth off Troy Percival that rallied the Orioles over the Angels 7-4 on Thursday.

Baltimore made it 4-3 in the eighth by becoming the first team this season to score an earned run off Angels reliever Brendan Donnelly on doubles by Carlos Mendez (in his first career at-bat) and Jay Gibbons.

Percival, who had been 7-for-7 on save chances this year, took over to start the ninth. The Orioles loaded the bases with no outs when Gary Matthews Jr. walked, Deivi Cruz singled and Geronimo Gil was hit by a pitch.

Roberts followed by hitting a 3-and-2 pitch over the rightfield fence for the first grand slam of his career.

The Angels had been 20-0 when leading after eight, and their bullpen began the day with an AL-best 2.51 ERA.

TIGERS 3, INDIANS 2 (11): Eric Munson drove in the winning run with a sacrifice fly in the 11th as visiting Detroit snapped a seven-game losing streak.

Detroit tied it in the sixth on Dmitri Young's two-run, pinch-hit single. In the 11th, Craig Monroe walked and went to third on a single by Young. Munson followed with a fly ball to medium centerfield, and Milton Bradley's throw home was up the first-base line.

Indians starter Jason Bere, activated from the disabled list earlier in the day, made his first start since Aug. 31, allowing two runs in 52/3 innings.

BLUE JAYS 8, YANKEES 3: Carlos Delgado homered twice and drove in five runs as visiting Toronto sent Andy Pettitte to his career-worst fourth consecutive loss.

Delgado hit a three-run shot in the first to make it 3-0 and a two-run shot in the third against Pettitte to give him an AL-leading 15 and make it 6-1.

Pettitte had allowed two homers to lefties since the beginning of 2002 before Delgado's 33rd multihomer game.

TWINS 6, A'S 5: Bobby Kielty hit a two-run homer and his bases-loaded walk forced in a run for visiting Minnesota, which has won seven of nine.

Kielty's homer came after Jacque Jones' leadoff double and made it 2-0. The walk made it 4-3 during a three-run fourth, which included run-scoring singles by A.J. Pierzynski and Torii Hunter.

MARINERS 5, ROYALS 1: Gil Meche pitched well again as host Seattle won for the eighth time in 10 games. Meche, who allowed one run and struck out seven in 62/3 innings, has won two straight starts and five of six.

Up 3-1 in the eighth, Edgar Martinez's single off the glove of pitcher Scott Mullen scored Bret Boone. Martinez later scored on Randy Winn's double.
