TAMPA - Chris Cano has been named Jesuit's athletic director, replacing Sonny Hester, who served as Jesuit's AD the past seven years.
Cano has been a faculty member at Jesuit since 1998, teaching physics, astronomy and algebra. He will continue his teaching duties in addition to serving as athletic director.
Cano is a West Point graduate and retired from the Army as a computer science specialist serving assignments in Germany and at the Joint Chiefs of Staff Command in Washington, D.C. Cano also is an avid endurance athlete, completing 14 marathons and numerous long-distance cycling events.
