Pasco law enforcement officers arrested 12 people and issued 201 traffic citations Friday night and Saturday morning as local and state officers joined forces to target speeders and drunken drivers.

The latest Operation Wolf Pack focused heavily on U.S. 19 between 6 p.m. Friday and 4 a.m. Saturday as dozens of officers searched for aggressive and impaired drivers.

Sheriff's deputies, as well as police officers from Dade City, New Port Richey, Port Richey and Zephyrhills, and troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol are working together all weekend to try and keep the roads safe for Memorial Day traffic.

As of Saturday morning, six people had been arrested on DUI charges and six others had been taken into custody under a variety of circumstances, including alleged drug possession and warrant arrests.

Additionally, 64 people had been cited for speeding and 31 people had been cited for not wearing seat belts. Officers issued 85 warnings for speeding and other traffic violations.
