TARPON SPRINGS - A Miami man wanted on grand theft arrest warrants in five counties was arrested Sunday after a hotel owner complained of another theft, police said.
Police arrested Robert Francis Feeks, 40, at the Hampton Inn at 39284 U.S. 19. Tarpon Springs police found Feeks at the Tarpon Springs hotel after getting a tip from a hotel owner in Holiday. Tarun Patel, who owns the Economy Inn at 2018 U.S. 19 in Holiday, had recently hired Feeks to do some work at his hotel, police said.
The trouble started when several items were missing after Feeks, who owns his own telephone installation company, completed the job at the Economy Inn on Sunday. Patel told Pasco County sheriff's deputies that a thief took a computer, tools, a DVD and cash, police said.
Shortly after filing his complaint in Pasco, Patel told Tarpon Springs police dispatchers that he had discovered that Feeks was staying at the Hampton Inn, police said.
A check of Feeks' name revealed arrest warrants from Volusia, Bay, Clay, Broward and Pinellas counties on charges of grand theft or violation of probation on grand theft.
Police arrested Feeks without incident at the Hampton Inn after finding several items stolen from the Holiday hotel in his room. He was being held without bail Monday at the Pinellas County Jail.
