GAINESVILLE - Andrew Miller, a projected first-round pick in next month's major-league draft, has been named Florida's top high school player by Gatorade.

Miller, a left-handed pitcher from Buchholz High, went 9-4 and averaged nearly two strikeouts per inning for the Bobcats, who reached the state 5A quarterfinals. He also pitched three no-hitters.

In the classroom, Miller carries a 3.5 grade point average and scored 1,300 on the SAT.
