A RECEPTION MARKING the opening of the Progress Energy Art Gallery will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today at 6231 Grand Blvd., New Port Richey. Featured artist is Glen A. Trumble, who created the commemorative art for the 2003 For the Love of Art show and sale. Trumble's photos will be on exhibit at the gallery through June 20.

"DEEP ROOTS: REFLECTIONS OF ANCIENT FLORIDA,' an art exhibit and lecture series, continues through June 30 at Pasco Arts Center, 5744 Moog Road, Holiday. The third discussion, "Florida's First People," led by Elizabeth Neily and Herman Trappman, will be at 1 p.m. Monday. The exhibit features paintings by Ms. Neily, computer-created art by Trappman, ceramic reproductions of Southeastern Mound Builders by Marty Hawthorn, organic jewelry by Yona Dunning and Kay Welch, and palm weaving by Lou Galgano. Viewing hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays.

"LOVE LETTERS,' a warm comedy, opens June 13 and continues weekends through June 22 at Forum Theater at Stage West Community Playhouse, 8390 Forest Oaks Blvd., Spring Hill. Shows are at 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, and 2 p.m. Sundays. Tickets are $10. AUDITIONS for the musicals Oliver, A Chorus Line, Christmas Spectacular, Chicago and Showboat will be at 6:30 p.m. Sunday at Show Palace Dinner Theatre, 16128 U.S. 19, Hudson. Roles are for singer-dancers of all ages. The Show Palace is specifically seeking two boys between the ages of 9 and 15 who sing and act to play the roles of Oliver and Artful Dodger.
