CLEARWATER - Business owners looking for free hors d'oeuvres and a chance to mingle with their counterparts will wait no longer.

Businesses from six chambers of commerce in Pinellas County will be represented in Clearwater today to showcase their businesses and network with others. The event at the Harborview Center, 300 Cleveland St. in Clearwater, is scheduled from 5 to 8 p.m. Admission is $5 and can be paid at the door.

The Upper Pinellas Business Showcase is a joint business effort of the Clearwater, Dunedin, Oldsmar, Palm Harbor, Safety Harbor and Tarpon Springs chambers. Nearly 100 exhibits will be set up in hopes of creating more business contacts and exposure to other companies in the county.

Membership in a chamber is not necessary to attend.

"This is a good opportunity to create new leads and contacts for you and your business," said Doug Kemp, vice president for special events at the Clearwater Regional Chamber of Commerce.

Kemp said he hopes the event will bring more awareness to business partnership opportunities in the county.

Businesses ranging from restaurants to printing companies to banks will display their products and services in 8- and 10-foot booths. Unfortunately, Kemp said, all spaces are taken for exhibitors, but business owners and others in the community are encouraged to come.

Business owners should also bring their business cards to drop in a drawing for two free sets of Tampa Bay Buccaneers tickets.
