LARGO - A 45-year-old man charged with having sex with underage girls he met in Internet chat rooms is facing additional child sex abuse charges.

Stephen Svab of Clearwater was arrested Monday on two charges of sexual performance by a child. He was previously arrested on two charges of having lewd and lascivious contact with children.

Svab was held at the Pinellas County Jail on Tuesday in lieu of $30,000 bail.

Largo police said Svab had sex with two girls, each under the age of 16, whom he met online over the last several months. Police began investigating Svab after one girl told a counselor; the other girl told her mother, police said.

When police arrested Svab the first time, they also took his computer and sent it to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement. Agents found nude pictures of one victim along with other child pornography, arrest reports state.
