DAVIE - Negotiations between former Denver quarterback Brian Griese and Miami continued Tuesday, but it wasn't clear if a deal could be completed before the Dolphins' three-day quarterback school ends Thursday.
The sides opened contract talks Monday, shortly after Griese was formally released by the Broncos. At least two more negotiating sessions took place Tuesday.
"They know where we're at," Dolphins vice president Rick Spielman said. "We'll see if we can bridge some things on incentives or whatever we have to do. We'll just keep working at it and see if we can get it done."
Meantime, Miami signed receiver Chris Jackson to a two-year contract. He spent the past four seasons in the AFL.
BILLS: Former Raiders receiver James Jett was signed. He was released by Oakland in February after his playing time diminished over the past two seasons.
BRONCOS: Safety Lee Flowers, a starter for the Steelers the past five years, was signed along with former Florida State quarterback Danny Kanell and cornerback Sam Young, both of whom spent last season in the AFL.
BROWNS: Running back Jamel White signed a four-year contract, which included a $1.3-million signing bonus.
CHIEFS: Veteran cornerback Ray Crockett was released.
PACKERS: Marcus Spriggs, a six-year veteran who has started at left and right tackle, was signed.
REDSKINS: The team parted ways with vice president of football operations Joe Mendes and promoted director of player personnel Vinny Cerrato to take his place. Mendes was the conservative fiscal voice in the general-manager-by-committee, offsetting the more aggressive spending tactics of Cerrato and owner Dan Snyder.
