Woman held on charges of cutting husband

WESLEY CHAPEL - A 60-year-old woman is in jail after authorities said she attacked her husband with a knife.

Dianna I. Goodman, 6312 Ashfield Place, faces a charge of aggravated domestic battery.

She also is being held on a warrant from Volusia County for fraudulent use of a credit card.

According to a Pasco County sheriff's report, Goodman got involved in a fight Tuesday evening with her husband, James Goodman, over "business dealings."

She grabbed a steak knife and began swinging it at her husband, cutting him on his stomach and left middle finger, the report states.

After he wrestled the knife from her, she grabbed a butcher knife.

James Goodman ran from the house and called for help.

Dianna Goodman later acknowledged she and her husband had a fight, but she denied cutting him, the report states.

She remained in the Pasco County jail at Land O'Lakes on Wednesday on $1,000 bail.

Detectives search for man who robbed shoe store

PORT RICHEY - Sheriff's detectives are searching for a man who forced a shoe saleswoman to the floor of a bathroom and then robbed the store Tuesday night, according to the Pasco County Sheriff's Office.

The woman told deputies she was working at the Payless ShoeSource on U.S. 19 in Port Richey when a man came into the store saying he was looking for a pair of shoelaces. The man acted as if he had been working on a water main nearby, and told the woman that he needed to check the water in the women's restroom, a report states.

The clerk took him to the restroom, where he ordered her to the floor and then robbed the store, a report states.

He was not armed, according to a report.

The woman described the robber as a 40-year-old white male, about 5 foot 10 and 180 pounds, with short brown hair. She said he was wearing a blue faded T-shirt with white lettering, tan work boots and dirty jeans.

Man kills himself after deputy pulls him over

NEW PORT RICHEY - A 63-year-old Port Richey man fatally shot himself in the head Tuesday morning after sheriff's deputies pulled him over on Trouble Creek Road, according to the Pasco County Sheriff's Office.

James E. Marik, 5511 Cottage Court, was driving a tan Ford about noon Tuesday when a deputy spotted him. The deputy knew that Marik was wanted on a charge of lewd and lascivious behavior and so pulled him over, a report states.

As the deputy walked to Marik's car, he heard a gunshot and saw that Marik's head was bleeding. Other deputies arrived and found a black handgun in the car, a report states.

Paramedics were not able to revive Marik, a report states.

The Sheriff's Office continues investigating.
