Neighbors suing to stop the 210-home Perrine Ranch development in southwest Pasco County have two more weeks to weigh concessions from the developer that could break the impasse.
At its meeting Thursday in Dade City, the Pasco Development Review Committee agreed to postpone until June 19 a hearing to consider changes to the project: reducing the number of homes to 190 and guaranteeing neighborhood access to Outrider Road.
Steve Booth, attorney for developer Alex Deeb, said the concessions, based on input from Perrine opponents, are meant to speed up a project delayed more than a year.
But opponents such as Fred Rydzik, president of the homeowners association in the adjacent Oak Ridge subdivision, complained they'd barely had a chance to consider Deeb's offer.
Over Booth's objection, the development committee put off the hearing two weeks so that neighbors could study the reconfigured development plans. The proposal takes in 138 acres on the south side of Perrine Ranch Road, about a half mile east of Grand Boulevard.
