A day in the life: chili and Krispy Kremes

Sen. Bob Graham didn't get much sleep Friday night because his flight from Phoenix to Omaha, Neb., did not arrive until after midnight. He didn't get to his hotel in Council Bluffs, Iowa, until about 1 a.m. He awoke about 7:30 a.m. Saturday.

SATURDAY (Central Daylight Time)

7:30 a.m. - Wake up

11 a.m. - Fundraising reception for Iowa Democrats in Council Bluffs

1 p.m. - Reception with supporters of Sen. Tom Harkin and preparation for forum

2 p.m. - "Hear It From the Heartland" forum

3:30 p.m. - Interviews with reporters

4 p.m. - Drive to Ames, Iowa. Stop at Wendy's for salad, chili

7:30 p.m. - Fundraising reception for Iowa Democrats in Ames

9 p.m. - Drive to Ottumwa, stop at convenience store for Krispy Kreme doughnuts

Midnight - Arrive at Hotel Ottumwa
