After months of waiting, four Northeast players have made their plans for next season official.

Receiver/defensive back Deontae Poole and tight end Ryan Ross signed with Missouri Valley College, an NAIA school in Marshall, Mo.

Two of their teammates, linebackers Earnest Fields and Richard Evans, signed with Huron University, an NAIA Division II program in Huron, S.D.

Poole, a Times second-team all-county selection, caught 22 passes for 432 yards. Ross, who was first-team all-county for the second year in a row, led all tight ends with 576 yards on 24 receptions. Both ranked among the top 10 in the county in receiving yards.

Fields, a second-team all-county choice, and Evans were the backbone of a Vikings defense that finished second in the county in yards allowed.

The four players join receiver Dominique Flowers (Iowa State) and quarterback Josh Harris (Tennessee State) as Vikings who will play in college this fall. Flowers committed on national signing day, and Harris signed a few days later. This is the second straight year Northeast has had six college signees.
