RIDGE MANOR - A man was injured Thursday after the pickup truck he was driving collided with a semitrailer truck on State Road 50 in Ridge Manor, delaying traffic on the busy highway for one hour.

The man, who was not identified by the Florida Highway Patrol, was driving east on SR 50, also known as Cortez Boulevard, about 2:30 p.m. when his pickup collided with the larger truck at the intersection of Kettering Road, Trooper Charles Lee said.

He was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital in Tampa, where he was treated for his injuries.

The driver of the semi, who also was not identified, had just delivered his cargo to the Wal-Mart distribution center and was trying to turn west on SR 50. He was not injured in the crash.
