PORT RICHEY - Police arrested a man Monday on several charges after authorities said he entered a woman's car, emptied her purse, broke her cell phone and then reached into her shirt and retrieved $200 tucked in her bra.

Rudolfo "Rudy" Ramos, 7336 Pulsar St., New Port Richey, knew the woman and met her near Moonlight Bay trailer park about 5:45 p.m. Sunday, according to police reports.

Here's what happened next, according to the Port Richey Police Department:

Ramos, 26, entered the woman's car through the unlocked passenger's side door without permission and emptied her purse. Outside the car, Ramos took her cell phone and twisted it in half and threw it on the ground.

Apparently knowing the woman kept money in her bra, Ramos reached inside her shirt and removed $200. He then kicked the car door, picked up a rock and threw it at the driver's door window.

The woman fled in her car and called police from a pay phone, saying she was in fear for her life.

Ramos, who was arrested on charges of burglary, battery, robbery and criminal mischief, was held Monday at Land O'Lakes jail on $16,000 bond.

Undercover investigation yields trafficking arrest

HOLIDAY - A 47-year-old man was arrested on a charge of conspiracy to traffic in cocaine after he tried to buy drugs from an undercover detective, authorities say. Randolph S. Dreher, 5930 Pappillion Lane, was arrested at his home Sunday after an investigation that began in early April, according to a Pasco Sheriff's Office report.

Authorities say the deal called for Dreher to buy a kilogram, or 2.2 pounds, of cocaine for $21,000.

On April 11, in the parking lot of a Bob Evans restaurant, the detectives met with Dreher and displayed a package of cocaine. The deal was called off that day.

The following day, however, Dreher called the detective and said he still wanted to do the deal and would show the detective the money. On April 13, Dreher called again and said he was ready to deal.

He was arrested Sunday and was being held Monday at Land O'Lakes jail in lieu of $10,000 bond.

Man flees traffic stop; police find load of pot

NEW PORT RICHEY - A 25-year-old man police say tried to outrun them during a traffic stop was arrested early Monday after officers said they found marijuana in his car.

When Anthony J. Iannuzzi was pulled over, police said they found 133 grams - just under five ounces - of marijuana separated in 15 plastic bags. He was arrested on a charge of possession of marijuana, intent to distribute. He also faces a charge of possession of a controlled substance for having two Xanax pills.

Iannuzzi, of 5701 Virginia Ave., was released from Land O'Lakes jail on $15,000 bail.

Assailants beat man, take his wallet Sunday

PORT RICHEY - Several assailants beat up a man and stole his wallet Sunday as he left some woods on his way to a convenience store, a Sheriff's Office report said.

The 38-year-old man told Port Richey he took a shortcut through the woods behind Embassy Crossing shopping center on U.S. 19 on his way to 7-Eleven. The man was unaware people were behind him until he was hit in the back of the head. The man said the attackers, whom he could not identify, continued to beat him and then left with his wallet, which contained a bank card but no cash.

A sheriff's deputy who talked to the man said he had black and blue eyes and swollen cheeks and a bump on the top of his head.

Would-be helpers turn into robbers, woman says

BAYONET POINT - A woman trying to find her way home Sunday said she was robbed by two men who had offered to help her. The 41-year-old woman, who recently moved to the area from New Jersey, told a Pasco sheriff's deputy that her stolen backpack contained $10,000 in jewelry.

She said she had been at the Palm Lounge with a friend and tried to make her way back to Leisure Beach, walking down U.S. 19 about 3:42 a.m. Two men on bicycles approached her and offered to help but, she said, they instead grabbed her backpack and punched her, then fled east on College Hill Drive.
