Deputies accuse man of sex with 17-year-old boy

HOLIDAY - A 35-year-old New Port Richey man was arrested early Wednesday after sheriff's deputies said he had sex with a 17-year-old boy whom he met on the Internet.

Allen Wayne Gates, 6942 Westend Ave., faces a charge of unlawful sexual activity with a minor.

Sheriff's deputies discovered Gates' car at the Holiday Recreation Complex and then saw him walking around about 1 a.m. Wednesday, according to an arrest report. Suspicious, the deputies asked Gates what he was doing, and he said he had just visited a man he met on the Internet, sheriff's spokesman Jon Powers said.

As deputies continued investigating, they discovered that Gates had performed sex acts on a 17-year-old boy, an arrest report states.

Gates, a Pizza Hut driver, was released from the Land O'Lakes jail Wednesday on $10,000 bail, according to a jail spokesman.

Teenager says Pasco man kidnapped, battered her

NEW PORT RICHEY - A 21-year-old New Port Richey man was arrested Wednesday morning after authorities said he sexually battered a teenager.

Erich Ryan Doscher, 5715 Acropolis Lane, was arrested on charges of kidnapping and battery.

Pasco sheriff's deputies said a 19-year-old woman told them Doscher pulled her hair, put her in a headlock and forced her into his car at 2 a.m. Sunday.

Doscher used his knees to steer the car as he ripped off the woman's clothing, an arrest report states. He drove toward the girl's apartment, deputies said.

As Doscher crossed into Pinellas County, he sexually battered the victim, a report states.

Doscher denied the allegations, a report states.

Sheriff's spokesman Jon Powers said the woman and Doscher had previously dated. A spokesman for the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office said one of its detectives is also investigating the case and could recommend additional charges against Doscher.

Doscher was held Thursday at the Land O'Lakes jail in lieu of $50,250 bail.

Two women injured in fight at Hudson bar

HUDSON - Sheriff's deputies are investigating a fight at the Connection in Hudson early Wednesday.

Two Spring Hill women - Jessica Lawrence, 22, and Danielle Hodge, 22 - told sheriff's deputies they were at a concert at the Connection, 12142 U.S. 19, at about 1:40 a.m. on Wednesday. The women said they were trying to get closer to the stage when a woman told them to "go home," an arrest report states.

Lawrence replied: "What's your problem?" according to the report.

The woman and three of her friends started beating Lawrence, deputies said. Hodge tried to help, and she, too, was assaulted, deputies said.

Both women were treated at Spring Hill Regional Hospital. Lawrence had two black eyes, a fractured nose and numerous cuts, deputies said. Hodge also had multiple cuts, deputies said.

The Sheriff's Office is investigating.

Police say 19-year-old hit brother with baseball bat

PORT RICHEY - A 19-year-old Port Richey man was arrested Wednesday after police said he assaulted his brother with a baseball bat.

Robert Andrew Ohlin, 5544 River Gulf Drive, Apt. 17A, faces an aggravated battery charge.

Port Richey police said Ohlin hit his brother, Nicholas Ohlin, in the arm multiple times with an aluminum bat on Wednesday morning and caused multiple fractures.

Ohlin was held at the Land O'Lakes jail Thursday in lieu of $20,000 bail.
