ST. PETERSBURG - A man shot by an armed robber remained hospitalized Monday at Bayfront Medical Center.

Two men were talking on the corner of 15th Avenue S and 12th Street about 12:15 a.m. Sunday when two armed men ran toward them, said St. Petersburg police spokesman George Kajtsa.

The robbers took about $30 from the victims, told them to lie down and then one of the robbers shot one of the men in the lower body, Kajtsa said. The victims walked to a friend's house and called for help. Anyone with information is asked to call St. Petersburg police at 893-7179.
