TORONTO - Jeff Conine and Tony Batista homered as the Orioles ended an eight-game losing streak to the Blue Jays with a 6-4 victory Tuesday night.

Carlos Delgado hit his AL-leading 23rd homer in the ninth inning for the Blue Jays. He leads the majors with 81 RBIs - the most by a Toronto player before the All-Star break

Conine hit a two-run homer off Kelvim Escobar (5-4) in the fourth to cut Baltimore's deficit to 3-2.

"It got everybody's blood going pretty good," Baltimore manager Mike Hargrove said of Conine's homer. "Up until then, Escobar threw the ball extremely well."

Escobar hit Conine on the left shoulder with a pitch in the sixth. Conine glared at Escobar as he walked to first base, and plate umpire Ed Rapuano warned both dugouts.

WHITE SOX 2, TWINS 1: Esteban Loaiza pitched eight impressive innings for Chicago to move the pitcher into a tie for the major-league lead in wins. Loaiza (11-2) allowed an unearned run and six hits, striking out six and walking one. He joined Toronto's Roy Halladay and Colorado's Shawn Chacon as the only pitchers in the majors with 11 wins.

ROYALS 3, INDIANS 1: Chris George pitched out of trouble for most of his 52/3 innings and visiting Kansas City won another game in the Central.

George (9-4), among the league leaders in wins despite a 6.18 ERA, allowed one run and seven hits to win his fourth straight start. The left-hander walked three, struck out three and was on the ropes from his first pitch.

However, he was able to get the big out when he needed one and the Indians helped by going 1-for-10 with runners in scoring position against George. Mike MacDougal pitched the ninth for his 17th save in 21 tries.

RED SOX 10, TIGERS 1: Nomar Garciaparra went 5-for-5 and Derek Lowe pitched eight strong innings for Boston.

Garciaparra singled five times and scored three before he was removed for a pinch-runner in the seventh. The only other time in his career he has had at least five hits in a game was Saturday, when he went 6-for-6 in a 13-inning game against the Phillies.

Kevin Millar matched a career high with four hits and five RBIs for Boston, which had 17 hits to win its fifth consecutive home game.

RANGERS 7, A'S 6: Carl Everett hit a three-run homer, Mark Teixeira had three RBIs and Mario Ramos earned his first major-league victory for host Texas. The A's rallied for four runs in the ninth on Terrence Long's run-scoring single and Mark Ellis' run-scoring triple off Brian Shouse, then Eric Byrnes' two-run homer off closer Ugueth Urbina.

After Scott Hatteberg doubled, Urbina struck out Miguel Tejada for his 19th save in 23 chances. Urbina blew a save in Monday night's 3-1 loss to the A's.

MARINERS 6, ANGELS 4: Freddy Garcia won his sixth straight start to tie a career best and visiting Seattle Mariners got home runs from Mike Cameron and Bret Boone.

The West-leading Mariners extended their lead over the defending World Series champions to 131/2 games.
