A reclaimed water project is in the works to serve the On Top Of The World complex.

The Southwest Florida Water Management District, commonly called Swiftmud, has announced a joint project with Pinellas County and the Pinellas-Anclote River Basin Board to provide 315,000 gallons a day of treated wastewater to the complex and its two golf courses. Swiftmud estimates that would save 157,500 gallons of potable water a day.

The project is expected to cost about $1.8-million. Construction is to begin by the end of this year and be finished within a year.
