CHICAGO - The bottom of the ninth was magic again for the White Sox.
D'Angelo Jimenez hit a single to score Magglio Ordonez as the White Sox beat the Cubs 7-6 Saturday and sent their crosstown rivals to a season-worst fourth straight loss.
"I've been trying to do too much lately and I went up there trying not to do that," Jimenez said.
Jose Valentin's ninth-inning homer on Friday gave the White Sox a 4-3 win.
On Saturday, Aaron Rowand hit a two-run homer in the eighth to tie it at 6, connecting off Antonio Alfonseca, who gave up Valentin's winner Friday.
Ordonez was walked by Juan Cruz to lead off the ninth, and after Carlos Lee flied to right he raced into second ahead of Sammy Sosa's throw.
Mike Remlinger replaced Cruz, and after striking out Valentin issued an intentional walk to Tony Graffanino. Jimenez, who did not start and was in a 7-for-41 slump, singled on an 0-and-1 pitch and Ordonez beat the throw home, setting off another wild celebration at U.S. Cellular Field.
Billy Koch pitched the ninth to win in consecutive games.
Leading by two, it appeared the Cubs defense saved them in the seventh.
The White Sox had two on and no outs when Cubs leftfielder Troy O'Leary leaped for an over-the-shoulder catch to take extra bases away from Lee. One batter later Sosa jumped along the rightfield wall to rob Valentin of a homer.
But in the eighth Rowand hit a two-out homer, his second of the season, to tie it.
"It's been a terrible week for us," Cubs manager Dusty Baker said. "I've got an excellent bullpen. It's just been a bad bullpen week."
