OKLAHOMA CITY - Marcellus Rivers of the Giants and Alvin Porter of the Ravens reached a settlement with a woman who accused the former Oklahoma State players of sexual assault in 1999.
A confidential financial settlement of the federal lawsuit was reached Wednesday, according to attorneys for plaintiff Alison Jennings and the players.
Jennings alleged Rivers, Porter and former Oklahoma State players J.B. Flowers and Evan Howell sexually assaulted her during a party at a Stillwater residence Nov. 21, 1999.
Jennings signed a waiver of prosecution, telling police she could not remember what happened clearly enough to accurately accuse anyone.
As a result, Payne County prosecutors declined to charge the players.
In depositions filed in Oklahoma City federal court, the players acknowledged having sexual contact with Jennings but said the acts were consensual.
SAINTS: Lineman Victor Riley was sentenced to two weeks in jail in a domestic violence case.
He pleaded guilty in May to a felony charge of aggravated assault for a 2001 incident in which he rammed his vehicle into another vehicle occupied by his wife and infant daughter. They were not injured.
CHARGES DROPPED: Prosecutors have dropped felony child abuse charges against Robert "Pig" Goff, a former lineman for the Storm and in the NFL.
Assistant State Attorney Heather Wagner said witnesses contradicted accusations made by Goff's 13-year-old son, leaving the state without enough evidence to prosecute the case.
Goff had been charged with hitting his son with a broomstick after the boy brought home a critical note from a teacher.
