The Family Aquatic Center offers a watery way to catch a movie: soaking in the pool.

SEMINOLE - Seminole recreation members, grab your Styrofoam noodles, air mattresses or other flotation devices and head for the pool on Saturday.
To celebrate the first anniversary of the Family Aquatic Center, the pool will be open from 8 to 11 p.m. for a "Dive-In Movie." Disney's Atlantis will be shown on a big screen while moviegoers soak in the pool. The children's pool will also be open. There will be free snacks, giveaways and special activities. Beverages will be sold at the center's concession stand.
The event is open to all ages, but children under 8 years old must be accompanied by an adult. Space is limited and is open only to those with Seminole recreation identification cards and their guests.
"We thought this would be a fun way to celebrate the anniversary," said Jerry Span, pool supervisor and head lifeguard. "This is the only time we're allowing these types of flotation devices."
The aquatic center, which features a junior Olympic-sized pool with six 25-meter lanes and a shallow children's pool, opened on June 11, 2002. It was the last part of a $6.1-million remodeling and building project at the Seminole Recreation Center.
"This is our first full summer of operation," said Jim Sheets, the city's recreation director. "It's much busier than our first season, and we're really pleased with the popularity of the pool." So far this season, the pool has generated revenues of about $10,000, Sheets said.
The pool season goes until about Sept. 1.
Because space is limited for the Dive-In Movie event, Span is asking that people purchase tickets in advance at the pool office at the recreation center, 9100 113th St. N. They cost $2 each. For questions, call him at 397-6085.
