CARROLLWOOD - Oakwood Community Church wants to more than double the size of its current facilities off Casey Road, including the 300-seat sanctuary.
The plan calls for two phases. The church would start by expanding the sanctuary to 500 seats while adding 3,157-square-feet of office and administration space and 17,245-square-feet for classrooms. In phase two, a new 1,000-seat worship center would be constructed and the existing worship center would be converted into a multipurpose building.
The church is seeking a special use permit for the project. The application is scheduled to be heard by a land use hearing officer on Aug. 18. (Petition 03-1158).
CITRUS PARK - A Clearwater company wants to build single-family homes on property where only mobile homes are allowed.
Under a 1984 rezoning (PD84-121), Sheldon Road Main Street Town Center can construct up to 222 mobile homes on 37 acres located on the west side of Sheldon Road near Gardner Avenue. The company seeks a change that would allow up to 122 houses.
A personal appearance before the Hillsborough County Commission is scheduled for Aug. 26. (Petition 03-1179).
