CLEARWATER - Authorities were patrolling Clearwater Beach on the roads, the water and the sand this weekend looking for law breakers.

As part of a special enforcement detail Sunday, authorities from four agencies made their presence known on the beach. They arrested one person for felony cocaine possession, two others for misdemeanors and five people for illegal fishing. They also made 181 personal safety checks on the water, issuing 20 boating citations and 62 warnings. One person was arrested on a boating under the influence charge. About 30 traffic citations also were issued on beach roads.

The agencies involved in the enforcement were the Clearwater Police Department, the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office, the U.S. Coast Guard and the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.
