DADE CITY - A 22-year-old woman is in jail after authorities said she assaulted a bartender at a drive-through, biting the woman and smashing her head against the window sash.

Charnell Tamara Parker, 38304 Roosevelt Ave., will face charges of battery and burglary of an occupied dwelling.

According to a sheriff's report, Parker and two teenagers arrived at the Quaker Bar on Meridian Avenue about 12:15 a.m. Friday.

Parker, who was a passenger in the car, had been there earlier to buy a small bottle of gin, orange juice and cups of ice, the report states.

This time, Parker ordered a larger bottle of gin, juice and cups. But she became agitated at being charged a higher price, the report states, and got out of the car.

Parker then grabbed the bartender, identified as Jennifer C. McKay, and repeatedly slammed her head against the inside of the 11-by-15-inch window, the report states. It also says Parker bit McKay on the hand.

McKay tried to stop the attack, but Parker only relented when several bar patrons responded to help, the report states. McKay was treated for cuts on her face but otherwise was unhurt, employees at the Quaker said.

Deputies found Parker on Old Sparkman Road later Friday and returned her to the bar, where McKay and another witness identified her.

Parker remained in the Pasco County jail at Land O'Lakes on Friday in lieu of $3,000 bail.
