MIAMI - A Montreal man was arrested after he threatened flight attendants and head-butted a passenger on an American Airlines jet bound for Miami, authorities said.
Marco Stefano Perciballi, 32, drank four small bottles of vodka on the flight Thursday from Curacao to Miami International Airport before becoming "obscene, abusive and threatening" to a flight attendant, states the arrest and court reports. The flight attendant grabbed an oxygen bottle to protect herself.
Perciballi then left his seat and demanded to see the captain, reports from the FBI and Miami-Dade police said. Crew members and another passenger tried to restrain Perciballi with plastic handcuffs, but Perciballi slipped out.
The crew then tried to tape Perciballi's hands with duct tape, the reports said.
While they were taping his hands, Perciballi head-butted a passenger.
Perciballi later wriggled free of the tape, but two flight attendants and a number of passengers corralled Perciballi in the rear galley for the remainder of the flight.
Perciballi was being held without bond at the Federal Detention Center in Miami, charged with disrupting a flight crew.
