ACCOUNTING

Jack Rybicki has been named to the board of directors for Hillsborough County of Junior Achievement of West Central Florida. Rybicki is senior manager for Chastang, Ferrell, Sims & Eiserman LLC, Tampa.

BANKS

Henry Gonzalez III has been elected to the board of directors of the C.E. Mendez Foundation Inc., Tampa, a local and national leader in drug and violence prevention education. Gonzalez is senior vice president, office executive for the Bank of Tampa.

CONSTRUCTION

J. Michael Cheezem has been named Clearwater Beach 2003 Business Person of the Year by the Clearwater Beach Chamber of Commerce. Cheezem is founder and chief executive officer of JMC Communities, Clearwater.

CONSULTING

Joseph Hogan has been named a partner at Consulting Technology Partners LLC, Palm Harbor. Hogan was a senior lead consultant for Hyperion Solutions, Tampa.

Glenda Morton has been named vice president of business development for Campanola Consulting, Tampa. Morton was a national account manager for Verizon in Falls Church, Va.

ENGINEERING

Dr. Ricardo N. Calvo has been named technical director for environmental services for HDR Engineering Inc., Tampa. Calvo was program director of environmental services for URS Corp., Tampa.

LEGAL

Tony B. Griffin has joined the law firm of Ruden, McClosky, Smith, Schuster & Russell, P.A., as a partner in the firm's labor and employment practice group. Griffin was a partner at the law firm of Ford & Harris LLP, Tampa.

Olga Pina has been elected president of the Tampa Bay Women in International Trade. Pina is a shareholder in the securities and finance practice group and the international practice group for the law firm of Fowler White Boggs Banker, Tampa.

MEDIA

Tom Garner has been named vice president of finance for WTVT-Ch. 13, Tampa. Garner was vice president of finance for Fox-owned station WBRC in Birmingham, Ala.

Mark Kanak has been named general sales manager for Cox Radio Tampa for WWRM-FM 94.9. Kanak was director of sales for Clear Channel, Orlando.

NON PROFIT

Family Resources Inc., St. Petersburg has announced their board of directors for 2003-2004. Steven M. Wilsey, chairman; Gary Shepard, vice chairman; and P. Chris Taylor, development and community relations committee. Wilsey is a certified public accountant and attorney with Fisher and Wilsey PA, St. Petersburg; Shepard is a registered representative with SunAmerica Securities Inc., Clearwater; and Taylor is a financial adviser for Merrill Lynch, St. Petersburg.

RECRUITMENT

Sunbelt Staffing Solutions Inc., Tampa, has announced the following promotions: Tami Schmidt to director of coordinators; and Joe Badalamenti to director of employee relations. Schmidt was assistant regional manager; and Badalamenti was the hospital consultant for the Southeast division.

UNIVERSITIES

Mark J. Laurenzo has been named deputy director for the University of South Florida's Division of Patents and Licensing, Tampa. Laurenzo was director of Iowa State University's Center for Advanced Technology Development.
