A Wesley Chapel woman was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after she raced after her brother-in-law with a knife, fork and spoon, officials said. Rhonda Merritt, 36, 6030 Saddlebrook Drive, was charged Saturday after deputies were called to her home shortly after the dispute broke out around 8 p.m., a report at the Pasco County Sheriff's Office said. During an argument with her brother-in-law, James Merritt, Rhonda Merritt grabbed a knife with a 5-inch blade, a fork and spoon and ran toward him, the report said. She dropped the silverware, pushed Merritt to the ground and hit him several times before her husband separated the two, the report said. Rhonda Merritt was arrested and taken to the Land O'Lakes jail, where she was released Sunday on her own recognizance.

Deputies look for teen who escaped Harbor

The Pasco County Sheriff's Office was searching for a 17-year-old boy this weekend who escaped from the Harbor Behavioral Health Care Institute in New Port Richey. Daniel Coleman had been in custody at the Juvenile Detention Center in connection with a grand theft case when he attempted suicide and was transferred to the Harbor, the Sheriff's Office said. Friday, as a doctor left the Harbor through an unsecured door, Coleman raced through it behind the doctor and fled on foot.
