Police have arrested one of two men suspected in a shooting Monday on 38th Avenue N. Anthony Leon Kelly, 18, of 3451/2 52nd St. S, was charged with two counts of attempted murder and one count of shooting into an occupied vehicle.
Police say Kelly shot Robert Carr Jr., 27, of New Port Richey because Carr took crack cocaine without paying for it. Carr is in stable condition at Bayfront Medical Center. Kelly also shot at a passenger in Carr's car, Ian Rush of Seminole, but missed, police say.
Kelly is being held without bail at Pinellas County Jail.
Kelly was arrested Wednesday evening, when St. Petersburg police lured him into the parking lot at Fourth St N at 26th Avenue. Two witnesses, including Rush, identified him as the shooter, police say.
Police also say they found a 9mm gun, marijuana and cocaine in the 1998 Pontiac that Kelly was riding in when he was arrested.
An accomplice drove the car from which Kelly fired the shots, police say. They did not release a description of that suspect, who is still at large.
