ORLANDO - A veteran central Florida prosecutor resigned Friday, several hours after she was arrested by police on a drunken driving charge.

Robin E. Wilkinson, 44, of Orlando, was stopped about 12:20 a.m. Friday after a police officer in suburban Winter Springs saw her driving erratically. She refused to take a breath test to determine her blood-alcohol level, police said.

Wilkinson was released from jail after posting $500 bail and was soon out of office.

"She resigned this morning," Randy Means, spokesman for the State Attorney's Office, told the Orlando Sentinel later Friday. He said the resignation was voluntary and was phoned in.

Wilkinson has been with the State Attorney's Office since 1984.

CAPE CANAVERAL - A boat named Wave Paver was on its way to Port Canaveral on Friday when its crew saw a flock of birds circling in the distance.

The crew found two men who had been clinging to a capsized 21-foot boat for two days, unseen by Coast Guard aircraft and cutters searching for them.

The capsized pair, Paul Baynes and Roy Davis, had thought ahead to file a float plan with a friend when they left Jupiter Inlet on Wednesday morning. When the men didn't return Wednesday night, a friend called the Coast Guard.

Baynes and Davis, both of West Palm Beach, were taken by the Wave Paver to a Coast Guard station, then transferred to local emergency personnel. Both were in good condition.
