Nation in briefSurvey shows gas prices steadyBy Times Wires© St. Petersburg Times published July 28, 2003 CAMARILLO, Calif. - Gas prices remained steady during the nation's heaviest driving season, rising less than a penny per gallon over the last two weeks, an industry analyst said Sunday. The average price of self-serve gas, including all grades and taxes, was $1.55, according to the Lundberg Survey of 8,000 stations. That was an increase of 0.12 cents per gallon from a July 11 survey. The rise was due to increased costs of crude oil, refinery glitches and Hurricane Claudette, which struck the Texas Gulf coast July 15, said analyst Trilby Lundberg. Gas prices remain about 10 cents higher than a year ago. The parents are suing Tom and Sue Klebold and Wayne and Kathy Harris in federal court, alleging the two families knew or should have known their children were planning an attack. Wyo. lightning kills climber and injures 5GRAND TETON NATIONAL PARK, Wyo. - Lightning struck and killed an Idaho woman and injured five others as the group was climbing the 13,770-foot Grand Teton, a spokeswoman said. Park spokeswoman Joan Anzelmo said Erica Summers, 25, her 27-year-old husband Clinton and four others were among 13 climbers who had divided themselves into four groups for the climb. "They all felt rain sprinkles and they didn't sense a big storm," she said. "In fact, they only saw two major lightning strikes and one was the one they were struck by." © 2006 • All Rights Reserved • St. Petersburg Times
