Father suspected in slaying

MIAMI - Authorities searched Sunday for a father suspected of killing his ex-wife, stabbing her mother and abducting his two children, triggering a statewide Amber Alert.

The two girls, ages 3 and 6, were found safe less than an hour after the alert was issued on Sunday, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement said.

Police responded to an emergency call Sunday from a woman in a southwest Miami-Dade neighborhood who said she was stabbed in the back by Hugo Quesada, her former son-in-law. She told police that Quesada said he had already killed her daughter, Miami-Dade police said.

Officers found a woman's body at the daughter's residence, and the two girls missing from the home. About 25 minutes later, the FDLE sent out another advisory saying the children were found safe. Quesada, 46, is considered armed and dangerous and thought to be driving a white pickup.
