PINELLAS PARK - Police are searching for a hit-and-run driver who killed a Largo man in June.

Mark Reed, 29, was struck about 2:30 a.m. June 4 when he was crossing 49th Street N, just north of Park Boulevard. A pickup truck traveling north in the southbound lanes hit him. The driver continued north without stopping to render aid or report the crash.

Police say the pickup truck was a 1985 to 1990 Chevrolet S-10 in poor condition with faded maroon or red paint, no tailgate, and some sort of materials stacked in the back.

A witness said the driver was a white man in his 30s or 40s with long dark hair, with some gray, possibly in a ponytail. The driver might have a moustache and his face appeared to be scarred, possibly from acne.

Anyone with information should call Crime Stoppers of Pinellas at 1-800-873-TIPS.
