Fire heavily damaged an 8,000-square-foot Largo home on Tuesday afternoon, authorities said.
Largo Fire Rescue responded to 2410 Kent Place at 3:45 p.m. after the second story of the house caught fire, said District Chief Butch Milne. It took firefighters about 30 minutes to extinguish the blaze, which primarily damaged the second floor, Milne said. The rest of the house had extensive smoke and water damage, he said.
Firefighters were trying to determine late Tuesday whether lightning struck the house, as a thunderstorm passed west of Largo just before the fire, Milne said.
The homeowner and his daughter were home, but no one was injured, Milne said. Their names were not available.
Clearwater firefighters helped extinguish the fire, Milne said.
